Bridge to Coding is a virtual program where girls and non-binary students in grades 6-8 can join a sisterhood of supportive peers and role models using computer science to change the world.
Bridge to Coding took place Wednesdays, starting October 6, 2021 for the duration of ten weeks, ending December 8, 2021. Girls participated in weekly virtual sessions from 4:00pm-5:30pm.
This program was be offered through Girls Inc. of Long Island and followed the Girls Who Code Python Chatbot curriculum. For more information and sign ups, click here:

Throughout the program, members:
- Learned to see themselves as computer scientists.
- Gained exposure to project management and problem solving techniques.
- Learned about other women in tech around the world.
- Learned the foundational computer science concepts that form the basis for all programming languages.
- Learned the basics of Python and built a Chatbot project
